Purpose

 

The Production Supervisor’s goal is to achieve strategic and facility objectives by providing functional support and guidance under the Plant Manager’s direction, while overseeing plant operations personnel.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

Performs duties as required by management.  Although most of the aspects of work are defined, parts are variable-with occasional unexpected tasks, challenges, or processes.

 

·         Participates in problem solving activities related to improving the production process and work environment.

·         Manage, coach and mentor direct reports to ensure staff is performing effectively and at their highest potential to achieve program and company organizational goals. This includes interviewing, planning, assigning, completing performance evaluations, coaching, and directing work.

·         Establish and implement operational, production and energy saving goals for the team. Make recommendations to improve work performance.

·         Evaluate the performance of your assigned employees, delivering positive and/or negative feedback, and addressing any shortcomings.

·         Evaluate and report on department metrics to upper management.

·         Responsible for management of inventory materials such as fresh lime, spent lime, dedust oil, operating supplies, and equipment fuel.

·         Responsible for monitoring and ensuring of the completion of employee training on Rain Carbon training platforms.

·         Responsible for entering inventory usage and production into control documents and SAP.

·         Responsible for overseeing of plant operating parameters, production targets, product quality, emissions monitoring, and utility consumption.

·         Provide reports pertaining to inventory, operational KPIs, overtime, process performance, etc.

·         Maintain work schedules for operations employees and approve timecards for employees.

·         Work requires resolving mutual problems and collaborating with others. Maintaining relationships between Company and Union and adhering to term of bargaining agreement. Facilitating employee growth

·         Participates in the continuous improvement of product and plant processes and performs other duties as required.

 

 

Job requirements (Educational qualification, work experience, required technical & functional skills)

 

A bachelor’s or associate degree in operations management or business management or 3 years relevant experience in industrial supervision.

 

Microsoft 365, SAP, and internet capabilities required. Experience with Statistical Process Control, familiarity with rotating equipment, bulk material handling, industrial processes, and industrial safety preferred. 

 

Experience in implementing operational processes and possess a good working knowledge of operational procedures and policies. Position requires strong project management, administrative management, and organizational abilities exercising leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
