For our Institute of Transportation Systems in Braunschweig, we are looking for a
Investigating the journey experience and behaviour of travellers in transportation systems
What to expect:
At the Institute of Transportation Systems, we consider the technical and operational aspects in their entirety and research their interactions - including with the people who use and operate the system. How does the use of automated shuttles influence the experience and behaviour of travellers?
How can travellers be supported in using different modes of transport and in finding an optimal travelroute?
The research group User Modeling is an interdisciplinary research team of computer scientists, cognitive scientists and psychologists, in which team spirit and mutual exchange are very important. As part of the internship, you will support the development of a study concept in which we want to investigate the
experience and behaviour of travellers when using an automated shuttle. Other tasks include literature research on the topic of travellers' experiences and the definition of psychological metrics for an empirical study. Depending on the starting date, you will also support the implementation and evaluation
of the study.

What we expect from you:
- ongoing studies in the field of psychology, human factors, cognitive science or similar
(Bachelor/Master) - strong interest in questions relating to research on travellers in mobility systems
- ability to work independently
- knowledge of MS-Word and MS-Excel is a plus
- ideally good written and spoken English skills
- ideally good knowledge of data analysis (R, SPSS)
- initial experience in the conception and evaluation of empirical studies are desirable
